About us
„Tokaj, the wine of kings and king of wines” is how the French King, Louis XIV described it when he tasted the Tokaj wine and the legend of the Tokaj has steadily grown over its more than four hundred years history.
In 2002, the UNESCO World Heritage Committee recognised the exceptional winemaking conditions of the Tokaj region, its secular capacity to foster culture and its value, and awarded it World Heritage status.
The Tokaj area is located on a mountain chain in north-eastern Hungary, Europe. Within the Tokaj region, the highest quality wine growing area can be found around the village of Mád where also the CHATEAU KÁLDI winery’s wineyard is located.
The CHATEAU KÁLDI winery is a 100% family business, already the 5th generation is running the cellar. For more than 130 years there is a Moto in the winery: “The smaller the quantity, the higher the quality!”
This determines our past, present and future!
